We are the third and fourth generations of humans with screen time experience. Each generation is more immersed then the last. This increase in screen time is a big factor in why we are less physically active. That’s why we have the Good to Grow! clock in the right corner to remind you to get off the computer and start playing!
Screens are a part of our lives, but there can be limits! The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children younger than 2 years old should not watch any television while screen time for children two and older should be limited to less than two hours a day. Here are some resources for help in cutting back.

At the Children's Museum
Screen Time Alternatives
One of the great things about children's museums is that they offer experiences that we usually can't replicate at home. Before you go to the museum, ask your child to think about the things she or he might enjoy the most at the children's museum.
On the way home, make list of your children’s top four non-screen experiences. See if you can tease out the elements of those experiences that made them a favorite. Together, brainstorm ways to do things at home similar to your museum experiences. Now you have begun a collection of screen time alternatives!
