Privacy Policy

GoodToGrow.org is an exciting destination on the Internet for children's museum professionals and families with children ages 0-12 dedicated to providing information and support in growing healthy kids and museums. As the public face of Association of Children’s Museums’ Good to Grow! initiative, GoodtoGrow.org playfully links families and children’s museums with compelling messages, engaging activities and accurate resources for living healthy lives.

GoodtoGrow.org ("Site") is owned by the Association of Children’s Museums ("ACM"), an international non-profit organization that builds the capacity of children's museums to serve as town squares for children and families where play inspires creativity and lifelong learning. This privacy policy informs you about the information we collect at this web site and how we use it. Your use of this Site signifies your assent to our privacy policy. If you do not agree to our privacy policy, please do not use this Site. Your use of this Site is also subject to our Terms of Service.

Please note that when you visit our Site, any personal or non-personal data you provide will be transferred to the U.S., where our Site is located. By visiting this site you consent to the collection, processing, transfer and storage of such data in the U.S. We are not responsible for the privacy policy or terms of use of any linked site.

At GoodtoGrow.org, we are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (“COPPA”), which requires that we inform parents and guardians about how we collect, use, and disclose personal information collected from children under the age of thirteen.

For Users of the Family Fun, Gallery and Grown-up Stuff sections:

The Family Fun section features the interactive Good to Grow! tree and stickers. Families are invited free-of-charge to register for their own online tree. Once registered, users are presented each day with a new question in one of four categories (food, exercise, screen time and outdoors) about healthy things that they have done. By answering the question, the family earns a sticker for their tree. The Grown-ups Stuff section is an easy-to-access springboard to resources, tips and information on living Good to Grow!

GoodtoGrow.org collects personal information that you voluntarily provide on this Website, which may include e-mail addresses. We use this information to communicate with you and to carry out your requests. GoodtoGrow.org does not condition a child’s or family’s participation in any activity on the disclosure of more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in the activity.

Upon registering you may opt-in to receive an e-mail from ACM or your designated children’s museum to receive periodic e-mail updates (e.g. new features available on this Site). You may change your preferences about receiving these updates at any time by sending a request via e-mail to acm@childrensmuseums.org.

We urge parents and guardians to monitor their children’s online activity and have regular conversations with them about the dangers of giving out personal information over the Internet.
